WISD Students and Staff Participate in "The Big Serve"
January 19, 2020
WISD students, staff, and their families spent a day off from school participating in “The Big Serve,” Wimberley Valley’s day of service to the community on January 18, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
WISD Board of Trustees member Rob Campbell was one of the event founders in 2008. The event was organized by members of the local church community and focused on beautification and community service projects at WISD campuses. The 2021 version of the Big Serve was transformed to allow for health and safety guidelines brought about by the COVID pandemic. Embracing the legacy of MLK, participants sought out their own service projects from neighbors or community businesses and organizations.
