Ten from Lady Texan Volleyball Named to 27-4A All-District Teams

Multiple members of the Wimberley Lady Texan Volleyball team have been recognized with postseason honors. The Lady Texans finished second in District 27-4A and advanced to the third round of the 4A playoffs, losing in four sets to eventual state semifinalist Bellville HS. The Lady Texans honored by District 27-4A are:
First Team
Maddy Harris, sr. - Received Second-Team honor last year; second on team with 457 digs and 248 kills, and tied for third with 53 aces.
Jesse Weeks, jr. - Second consecutive First-Team All-District honor; setter led the team in assists for the second straight year with 756; fourth on the team with 287 digs.
Laney Hennessee, soph. - Honorable Mention a year ago; led the Lady Texans with 420 kills and 35 blocks; tied for third on the team with 53 aces; third on team with 432 digs. Has compiled totals of 563 kills and 556 digs during two varsity seasons. Hennessee was also named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) 4A All-State team, the only Lady Texan to receive the honor this season.
Second Team
Kenslee Brown, jr. - Led team with 34% hitting percentage; fourth on the team in kills with 182, tied for second on team with 31 blocks. Kenslee was also selected as an alternate for the TGCA All-Star game, to be played in July 2023 in Arlington.
Rhagen Masur, soph. - Led team in aces (60) and digs (612).
Honorable Mention
Emily Thames, sr. - Second consecutive Honorable Mention All-District honor. Third on the team with 197 kills.
Cortlyn Davis, jr. - Seventh on the team with 62 kills. Had eight blocks.
Mariah McCoy, fresh. - Tied for second on team with 31 blocks; fifth with 122 kills.
Carson Peoples, fresh. - Second on team in assists (512) and aces (56).
Lilli Sandoval, fresh. - Sixth on the team with 64 kills. Had nine blocks.
The Lady Texan volleyball team also announced that seniors Emily Thames (1st Team), Lauren Boyle (1st Team), Maddy Harris (2nd Team), Tessa Milam (Honorable Mention), and Ava Hennessee (Honorable Mention) were recognized for their classroom work by being named to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State Team. THSCA awards Academic All-State honors to seniors that have a grade average of 92 or higher, and who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. Named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Academic All-State Team were Boyle, Harris, A. Hennessee, and Thames.
In addition to the state honors, the entirety of the team (players and managers) were named to the District 27-4A Academic All-District team. They are:
