Following the state’s redesign of the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has informed school districts that final test results from the 2022-23 school year will not arrive until later during the summer of 2023. For the End-of-Course exams (Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and U.S. History), results are expected to be available in the TEA’s STAAR Portal on June 30. For the Grades 3-8 STAAR exams, families will have access to student results in the TEA’s STAAR Portal on August 16.

It’s also important to note that due to the state redesign of the STAAR assessments, the TEA has communicated that comparing your child’s scores from this year’s test to previous years’ scores will not provide an accurate view of academic growth for your child. The format of questions on the tests, the addition of short-answer questions, and other changes were made this year.
