SueAnna Thomas, Principal

Howdy!  My name is SueAnna Thomas, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Jacob's Well Elementary Ranger family. Education has been a part of my life, my whole life. My grandfather taught in a one-room schoolhouse, my mother was a school nurse, my sister is an incredible 5th grade teacher, my brother-in-law retired from a career as a CTE Coordinator, my father-in-law is a retired superintendent, and my niece is a music teacher. I have 33 years of personal experience in education. I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grade in Crowley, Forney, Las Cruces, Hays, and Dripping Springs. I was Scudder's assistant principal for 6 years when I was Awarded Region 13's Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2018.

I am a wife, mom, Aggie, sister, aunt, and daughter-in-law. Brad, my husband of 30 years, is the reason for all the different locations of my teaching jobs! We have lived in Dripping Springs since 2003 and are here for life. Rob, our son, graduated from Texas A&M (whoop!) with a degree in petroleum engineering and a business minor.

I believe every child is unique and can learn. Often, the time, process, and resources a child needs to learn are different from their peers. It is my job as an educator, and the leader of Jacob's Well, to help find ways and create an environment in which every child will feel safe and be able to reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally. I want children to embrace learning and take risks every day as we prepare them for the future. At the same time, I want children to be children - allowing them to explore and play is an important part of who they are now and who they will become. Parents are invited on this incredible journey, as families and schools working together is when the magic happens and students achieve their highest potential.

I always have an open door and a listening ear to your ideas of what our school, and you, may need. Never hesitate to reach out, as I sincerely believe it takes all of us to create the best experience for our students, staff, families, and community. I look forward to an incredible year!
