Welcome to the 19-20 School Year! We are glad to see the bright, shining faces of all Wimberley ISD students. Thank you for the hard work of making the transition from the carefree days of summer to the first day of school as smooth as possible.
Earlier this summer, we introduced our new safety director, Roz Simmons, and our new director of student support services, Amy Lyles, both of whom are focused on training, audits and implementation of new safety measures with a holistic approach to students. We value your feedback as an important partner in achieving an optimal learning environment at all WISD campuses.
WISD continues to prioritize fast, accurate and transparent communication with parents, both in case of an emergency or to share good news from the students at all campuses. Together, we set the tone for how we communicate with our children and each other. Whether you have a concern, a compliment or a complaint, the District team appreciates constructive and considerate input. Take a moment to check your Skyward account to make sure all phone numbers and emails are correct.
The WISD team celebrated the groundbreaking of the new primary school campus in the heat of the summer and we look forward to starting classes there in 2020. The Ag barn at WHS is under construction as is the addition to Danforth Junior High. The kitchen at DJH will be ready by August 19. Please check the Child Nutrition Department on wimberleyisd.net for amended menus at the junior high while we make finishing touches on the kitchen.
Texan Partners—Business and Non-profit—and Boosters
Thank you to our community members who make a difference for Wimberley ISD teachers, students, staff and administrators throughout the year. We are especially grateful to the many Texan Partners who helped us launch the 2019-20 school year with energy and enthusiasm. Thanks to Texan Partners, your student will come home with a calendar magnet in the next few weeks. Enjoy!
Again, the role of parents, guardians and loved ones is critical to the success of all WISD students. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to seeing you throughout the year to celebrate the many successes of your young Texans.
