Wimberley ISD is proud of a tradition of excellence in academics. For many years Wimberley has been a premiere district, receiving accolades for high state assessment scores and earning titles of Exemplary and Recognized, top UIL performances with STATE winners and recognitions, and top programs as touted by several periodicals over the last decade. Most students graduate from Wimberley High School, college and career ready.
Wimberley does not have a canned academic curriculum, but we carefully follow the state’s TEKS and ensure that we are teaching what the students need to know to be successful in their current grade or course and beyond. Teachers in Wimberley have the flexibility to teach the way they want to instruct and that is attractive to the individual teachers and unique classroom settings.
All teachers and administrators are continuously trying to grow as lifelong learners. We want to do the best job for teaching our students as possible. We shine with TEXAN PRIDE!
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do. The State Board of Education (SBOE) has legislative authority to adopt the TEKS for each subject of the required curriculum. The following link provides information for the TEKS by each subject area: Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
