My name is Emily Merkord and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher! This will be my tenth year teaching in a public district and I absolutely ADORE this profession. 

Before I began teaching at Scudder, I had taught Pre-K for 12 years. I enjoyed teaching so I decided to pursue additional measures. I obtained my Bachelors's in Social Sciences with an emphasis in education, following a Graduate degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University. I am EC-6 & ESL certified and GT endorsed. I am very passionate about differentiation and teaching how your child learns best. 

When I'm not planning or teaching, I spend my moments with family. I have a son that is 26 and a daughter 23 years of age. My son graduated from A&M as an Ocean Engineer and my daughter is in nursing school. My husband and I just built a home off of the river. We are enjoying our empty nesting time. 

Things about me....I love Target and Amazon. My favorite restaurants are sushi restaurants. My favorite movies are Mary Poppins, Harry Potter and Goonies. My favorite book is the Harry Potter series. I adore the Fall season. My favorite phrase is Fantabulous!!
