Joe Malone, President, Place 5

Joe has served on the board since 2013 and was just voted its president. His commitment to education in the Wimberley Valley also includes serving as a board member and past president of the Wimberley Education Foundation. 
"I am committed to doing all I can as a board member to support our teachers, administrators, kids and parents to deliver an excellent educational experience to all our kids while also being a good steward of the taxpayer dollars with which we have been entrusted."
Joe is a partner with Stevens & Malone, LLP, which supports the Wimberley office of Independence Title Company. He and his wife, Trish, are parents to three WISD students, Ella in 7th grade, Jack in 4th grade and Hope in kindergarten.

Traci Maxwell, Vice President, Place 2

A board member since 2015, Traci was recenlty elected as vice president of the board, eagerly exploring opportunities to work together to enhance classroom tools and resources for teachers and students. She also shares her leadership skills with the school district as a project facilitator for Generation Pave the Way at Wimberley High School, connecting first generation and low income students with plans after graduation. A huge Texan fan, Traci is a very enthusiastic member of both the Texan Athletic and Academic Booster Clubs.
Traci is committed to preserving the beauty of her community and values the Wimberley Valley as an ideal place to call home. She has had a 25-year career as a real estate broker, helping families and individuals find their dream house or ranch.  She is mother to Stephen, a 2014 graduate of WHS and senior, Maddie who will graduate this spring. Additionally, she is the chair for the Camp Good Sam Advisory Board and has served on the Hays County Appraisal Board since 2015. She is a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wimberley.
"The Wimberley Valley is a beautiful place to live, work and serve. We have shown over and over again, that we are truly Wimberley Strong. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve another term and look forward to continuting this board's legacy of building stronger foundations and brighter futures for students from the moment they step into the classroom."

Rob Campbell, Secretary, Place 3

Elected in 2018, Rob Campbell is the newest board member and shares the trustees' commitment to providing the optimal learning environment for local students. A 30-year resident of the Wimberley Valley, Rob is a familiar face including to local students, having served as a youth pastor for 10 years. He is the founding and senior pastor of Cypress Creek Church, a role he has held for 26 years  in Wimberley and San Marcos.
His community service also includes a position as a board member for the Southriver Residential/Business in Wimberley. Rob is also a Wimberley Ministerial Alliance Member and Past Convener.
Rob fully supports and is excited to help the board realize the WISD vision of Empowering and Inspiring ALL Students to Achieve Their Full Potential.
"I will serve cooperatively with the WISD administration, teachers, board of trustees, parents, and students."
He and his wife, Susan are parents to two daughters, both WHS graduates and are grandparents to 4 grandchildren who live in the District.

Lori Olson, Place 1

A native Texan, Lori has lived in Wimberley since 2006 and has served as a trustee since 2015. She served two years as board secretary and continues in her second year as the district's representative to the TASB Delegate Assembly, developing the shared legislative agenda for all Texas school boards. Lori also served on the district Facilities and Strategic Planning Committees. She and her husband have two daughters in junior high who have attended WISD since Pre-K. Lori has enjoyed supporting their teachers over the years as class mom and volunteer, with gratitude for the wonderful WISD teachers and administrators who give so much to students and also appreciation for the many parents and students she has met over the years whose diversity strengthen the Wimberley community.
During the past 20 years, Lori has worked for various land and water conservation organizations across the country, including in Hays and surrounding counties. Since 2011, she has served as the Executive Director of the Texas Land Trust Council, a statewide association of 30 non-profit organizations, including the Wimberley Valley Watershed Association, preserving Texas’ most precious lands and waters. She is actively managing a diverse coalition of organizations, undertaking land conservation advocacy and outreach. 
"I am proud of Wimberley ISD achievements to advance educational opportunities in our district, while holding ourselves to high standards of excellence in all areas. I believe in strong community accountability and oversight, in fulfiling obligations to our constituents. I am thrilled that WISD voted forward the "One Water" plan for water and wastewater utilities at our new primary school, providing benefits for our children and preserving our community's natural resources. WISD is leading the way to demonstrate what sustainability can look like in the Hill Country."

Will Conley, Place 4

Will Conley joined the board on Nov. 18. He was elected to the Board on Nov. 5. He takes to heart his new role, saying, “I am excited to begin the important work of supporting the best teachers and students in the state by working closely with a very dedicated team of board members,” said Conley.

“This board has opportunities to build on the innovation that enhances student success, while also embracing new ideas and strategies that are the hallmark of a WISD education,” added Conley.

Conley and his wife, Erin, have three children who attend WISD. He is a business owner and has lived in Wimberley for 12 years.

Lexi Jones, Place 6

Lexi Jones was elected to serve on the Wimberley I.S.D. Board of Trustees in November 2020.

Lexi and her husband, Mark purchased land in Wimberley in 2006 and moved from Austin shortly after in 2008. In addition to being a wife and mom, Lexi is a human resources executive. Her nearly 20-year career has largely been in fast-paced, high-growth technology firms. Today, she serves as the Vice President of People at SecureLink, overseeing the development, implementation, and delivery of HR strategies, best practices, and services that create, support, and sustain the high performance, innovative, and entrepreneurial culture at SecureLink.

"The opportunity to serve WISD's Board allows me to continue my service to the community we've loved & call home. We came to Wimberley because we wanted to raise our kids in this community and in this district. I want to preserve what makes it so special for all of Wimberley's families."

Lexi and Mark are local small business owners and have three children: Alexa - WHS Class of 2018, Vance - WHS Class of 2022, and Maya Rose - WHS Class of 2024.

Ken Strange, Place 7

Ken moved to Wimberley in 1985, following four years of service in the United States Air Force. He joined the Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department in 1989 then joined Wimberley EMS as a volunteer in 1991. He was hired as a full-time paramedic with Wimberley EMS in 1996 and ascended to director in 2004. Ken has served on the WISD Board of Trustees since 2008.

"Service in any form is very important to me and I really enjoy taking care of the residents of our community. Serving on the board is a way for us to impact the future of our students as they follow in our footsteps to become valuable and responsible citizens."

Ken lives in Woodcreek North with his wife Yvette and two children, Kennedy and Hallie. Both are WISD students. Together, they enjoy traveling, camping and being outdoors.
