Mrs. Rayanna Hoeft

I teach Advanced Placement World History: Modern, Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics, and Honors Economics. I am excited to assist with the UIL Social Studies and Current Event teams this school year. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in History and from Texas State  University with a Master of Arts in History with a public history concentration. My husband, Todd, and I are living our best lives in San Marcus as recent empty nesters. After raising five children I missed the energy of high school kids, deciding education is a good fit for someone with a ridiculous amount of knowledge and training pertaining to history. This is my first year teaching in the Texas public school system. I recently completed a teaching fellowship at Texas State University while completing my graduate degree and worked in the education non-profit sector for many years. I hope to pursue my doctorate in history at some point during the journey. Until that time comes, I am excited to teach, mentor, and share my love of history and politics with the students of Wimberley High School.
